SUMMARY

Prof. Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW is the Vice Chancellor of Kabarak University, Kenya. He was appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration & Finance), Kabarak University in May 2015 and later became the Kabarak University Vice-Chancellor on December 15, 2017. He holds a PhD from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, an MA in Education with distinction from the University of Lancaster, UK, a B.Ed (Arts) from Kenyatta University, Kenya, and a Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Centre for Corporate Governance, Kenya. Prof. Kiplangat is an accomplished scholar in Educational Administration and Planning with a keen interest in higher education management, strategic thinking, and planning. He has published over 20 journal articles in scholarly, peer-reviewed journals. He has also published many scholarly books, the latest being “University Management Practices and Academic Staff Job Satisfaction: Perspectives from Kenya” published in September 2023. He served as a Secondary School Principal for 20 years (six years at Sacho High School and fourteen years at Moi High School-Kabarak), enabling the schools to be at the top of the country in KCSE performance. Prof Henry Kiplangat is a recipient of the Moran  Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) and the Order of the Grand Warrior of Kenya (OGW), awarded by the President of the Republic of Kenya in recognition of his service in the education sector in Kenya. Prof. Kiplangat has been a trainer of trainers at the Kenya Education Staff Institute (KESI), now the Kenya Educational Management Institute (KEMI), and a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD).  Prof. Kiplangat is a firm believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and also a seasoned veteran in biblical evangelism, which is core to Kabarak University. He serves as Chairman, A.I.C. Kabarak Local Church Council, which is responsible for the spiritual guidance of Kabarak Institutions, recently fulfilled the Biblical calling and ascended to Jerusalem, the Holy City, Capital of Israel and is henceforth authorized to bear the title ‘Jerusalem Pilgrim.’ He is committed to serving the community and is the Chairman of the Board of Management of Baringo High School, Sirwa Secondary School, and Mogotio High School.  He is a life member of the Kenya Red Cross Society, among other outreach activities. He has been recognized for his pioneering contribution to the MHS-K Alumni Endowment Fund and support of the Africa Inland Church.
