SUMMARY

Dr. James Kay is a seasoned scholar, counselling psychologist, and higher education professional with extensive experience in teaching, research, programme leadership, and psychological services. With over 15 years in academia, he has contributed significantly to the fields of mental hygiene, counselling psychology, quality assurance in higher education, and psychosocial wellbeing.

He holds a PhD in Counselling Psychology from Kabarak University, with research focused on existential fulfilment, work engagement, and burnout among university counsellors. Dr. Kay has served in various leadership roles, including Academic Programme Leader, Head of Department, Member of Kabarak University Ethical and Scientific Review Committee, and Conference Chair.

He is also an external examiner at University of Kabianga, professional consultant, ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, journal editor, and active member of several regional professional associations.
